🥊🖨️ HIT Lab Baja

We're a small 3D printing studio near Rosarito.

You bring the idea—or the broken part—and we'll figure out the rest.

Custom projects • replacement parts • toys • branded goods • organizers • games

For bars, gyms, hobbyists, and neighbors who need a hand.

Let's make something together.

Where Ideas Take Shape

How It Works

No tech skills required. Just an idea.

1

You have an idea

A broken part. A logo. A custom gift. That's all you need.

2

We find the design

We search free sites where designers share their work.

3

Or we design it

No file? No problem. We create it from scratch.

4

We print it

PLA for detail. PETG for durability. Printed in Rosarito.

5

You pick it up

Local pickup. Ready to use. No shipping.

🔤 3D Printing Lingo — Made Simple

What's an STL file?

Think of it as a digital recipe for your object. It's made of thousands of tiny triangles that describe the shape — but not the color, texture, or what it's made of. It's the universal language of 3D printers.

🔍 When you download something from Printables or Thingiverse, you're getting an STL file.
Fun fact: STL stands for "stereolithography" — but we just call it "the file."
Our printer — Bambu Lab A1

This is the machine doing the work. It prints up to 256mm (about 10 inches) in any direction — big enough for most projects, but not for car bumpers! It's fast, quiet, and smart enough to calibrate itself.

🖨️ It prints PLA and PETG beautifully. For ABS or nylon? Not so much — wrong tool for the job.
It can print a perfect little boat (a "Benchy") in just 14 minutes. We've tested it.
PLA — the friendly beginner

Made from plants (cornstarch, sugarcane). It's easy to print, smells sweet, and comes in every color. Perfect for decorative items, gifts, and prototypes. But it's brittle and hates heat — leave it in a hot car and it'll warp.

🎨 Best for: keychains, coasters, figurines, plant pots, cable organizers.
PLA is compostable under industrial conditions — but please don't toss it in the ocean.
PETG — the tough one

The same stuff as disposable water bottles, but engineered for printing. It's stronger, more flexible, and handles heat and sun much better than PLA. Slightly trickier to print (can string like spiderwebs), but worth it for functional parts.

🔧 Best for: replacement parts, outdoor items, phone mounts, anything that needs to last.
PETG absorbs moisture from the air — so in coastal Rosarito, we store it in sealed bags with desiccant.
⚖️ PLA vs PETG — The Short Version
PLA PETG
Ease of printing 🍰 Super easy ⚙️ Needs practice
Strength Brittle, snaps 💪 Tough, bends
Heat resistance 🔥 Low (softens ~60°C) ☀️ High (handles ~80°C)
Outdoor use 🌧️ Not great 🌵 Yes, UV resistant
Best for 🎁 Gifts, decor, prototypes 🔩 Functional parts, repairs
👆 Still unsure? Tell us what you're making — we'll pick the right one.
3MF — the smart file

A newer format that stores colors, materials, and even printer settings inside the file. If you're designing something with multiple colors or special textures, this is the one.

🌈 We use this for multi-color coasters and custom logos.
Infill — the inside stuff

Prints aren't solid all the way through — that'd take forever and waste plastic. Instead, we print a honeycomb (or grid) inside. More infill = stronger part, but slower print.

📦 10-20% for keychains, 40-50% for functional brackets, 100% if you want it indestructible.
Supports — temporary scaffolding

If a part has overhangs (like a bridge or a raised arm), we print temporary supports underneath. They snap off after printing. Not pretty, but necessary.

We design parts to minimize supports — cleaner finish, less waste.
Warping — when corners curl up

Happens when plastic cools too fast. ABS is famous for this. PLA rarely warps. PETG sometimes does if the bed isn't hot enough. We keep our settings dialed so you don't have to worry.

Do I need to know how to design?

No. You just need an idea. We do the rest.

What if I have a broken part but no file?

Send us a photo and measurements. We'll design a replacement from scratch. Or bring it by — we can measure it together.

How do I get started?

Fill out the form below, email us at hitlabbaja@gmail.com, or DM us on Instagram @hitlabbaja. Tell us what you're trying to do — broken thing, custom gift, logo for your business. That's it.

Still not sure?
